We need your support ...

Yarrunga Community Centre is currently organising a petition for a regular bus service along Croydon Hills Drive so that people can better access the Centre using public transport. The reasons for this are:

  • the current bus routes around Yarrunga are too far away from the Centre for older people, disabled people and non-drivers
  • telebus services do not cover the Centre's opening hours, can be difficult to organise when leaving the Centre, and do not operate on weekends or after hours
  • all other community centres in the City of Maroondah have public transport services to their Centres placing Yarrunga Community Centre at a disadvantage when developing and running programs for non-drivers

The ability to easily access Yarrunga Community Centre via public transport will let many non-drivers gain the independence to participate in educational programs that can lead them towards employment and further training; improve their health and wellbeing with fitness and lifestyle programs; and relieve isolation through access to social groups.

How can you help? Please come into the Centre and sign our petition.
